Four Friends... 1L.

four friends

Something “fresh”, new and interesting is up. This is Four Friends named upon the Estate it is coming from. For 5€ you get 1L bottle which converted to 0.75L makes it cheap.

However the quality I got was rather impressive for the price. Like it very much! It is nothing special but nice, balanced, ready… things you expect when you go to buy something for tonight or wander how to start your dinner today. It is produced with three varieties (that I know of) – Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cuvee. I had the Cuvee which impressed me so good that I will be trying the others as well.

One other thing to note here as well is the label – it is so stylish?! Click on the picture to see it bugger. I like it very much as well as the bottle – it has some sense of something old… old like – old school. But still very stylish.

There are other new(and not so new) players on the market that I am looking forward to their success – at the “nouveau” scene next will be: Bratanov – Young Merlot and Junior from Katarzyna Estate that I will add to Bulgarian Nouveau page soon…

Cold outside - new season 2013/2014 starting...

vine leaf

It is getting cold outside and the new season for the red wine is here. It is a fly start for a lot of the known brands going out on the market with their latest. Worth mentioning here some of the known goods which are used for benchmarks like Carpe Diem 2012 and Contemplations 2012 in the lower segment as well as Oak Tree 2010 and Santa Sarah’s Privat 2009. So along with these and few others new players appear as well like the new from Medi Valley – Incanto Black 2012 aiming at the higher segment but for those will be posting notes later.

Events not really worth mentioning a lot. The Divin0.Taste 2013 was a parody of an event and all other forums fall flat with not much to present because of the weak attendance. On a good side the Bulgarian wine is getting stronger and stronger with a lot of dedication everywhere and hopes for the very successful 2013 year… in grape terms. We will see about the wine…
