2012
Starting with Vidin at the end of January temperatures dropped at -17°C and -18°C (30.01 and 31.01) which remained very cold for whole ~10 days and before it got better on 09.02 it was already -21°C. Not looking good there and I know there have been some damages but hopefully Vidin will manage it. Talking about Dunabe Plain – Ruse seems pretty OK so we might get some good wines there.
Burgas was looking fine during the year but at the end it was pooring so much that ruined it all. The harvest started little earlier so it should be find since only the last 3-4 days of October was heavily raining. Just have it in mind.
This leads us to the right on spot conditions in the most Southern parts of Bulgaria where major wineries own vineyards. Now is the time wineries like Katarzyna to show what they are capable of. I am looking forward for Encore Syrah 2012. Time will tell…
